Something IMPORTANT to say......
Something VERY IMPORTANT to say.........
I have been waiting for ages to say it......
Jumping up and down.....
BOING!.....
BOING!!!!!....... (metaphorically speaking, of course - remember that knee)
Are you all listening????????????
Where was I......
What I wanted to tell you was how this little boy ......
Grew up seemingly over night......
And married this lovely girl in a fairy tale wedding in Switzerland........
And they settled down in their home, travelled the world and then.......
On Father's Day this year.....
I had a call from my daughter-in-law.....
To tell me.......
That in early February next year.....
I AM GOING TO BE A GRANNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sigh. How wonderful is that! Yes, I know a lot of you are grannies already, but, like Pea and Lori, this is my FIRST grandchild, and I am beyond excited. I promised not to tell anyone until they told me I could, and now that Ann has had her 12 week scan, and all is well, my lips are unzipped and I am telling the world. You have NO idea how hard it was to stay silent!
She emailed me the ultrasound photos of the little one this morning, and it is just the most magical thing on earth. The email came with the note "Hello.....Love Baby". Hello indeed, little one.
So here I am, grinning from ear to ear. Me. A Granny. I cannot wait!
Just thought that maybe I should tell you all........
Barb? BARB??? We need to talk!
WTG LINDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so proud for you!!!.I just left Barb's, you need to run over and see what shes doing.

Perhaps what you really need is a second job. You don't want to know how much money I spent when I found out my first grandchild (Cameron) was on the way. :-)

You think you loved your children??? Well I am here to tell you my friend that from the first moment that you hold that sweet little babe in your arms a bond is forged that is unlike anything else you have ever experienced.
Concratulations dear heart and my best wishes to Mommy and daddy too.

ReplyDeleteHang on tight. You are about to begin a most wonderful experience. Enjoy every fleeting moment if it. You won't believe how quickly they grow up.
Here's looking at you, kid.
Congratulations! I'm so excited for you! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYou are about to begin THE most wonderful part of your life!! You are going to love being a grandmother and it just gets better as they grow. Loving your children is great but the love for a grandchild surpasses even that, if you can imagine it. I am so happy that you will have a new little one to treasure, dote on, cuddle and brag about.
ReplyDeleteI pray that Ann and sweet little one will be safe and all the growing will happen without any complications. WE really do take it for granted and it is a true miracle when it happens so perfectly. God bless you all!
Oh how exciting!! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I thought I would come over here, and what a great post to run into! As someone who is trying for baby #1, I get very excited when anyone- even a stranger- discovers they are expecting.

Being a Grammy is the most wonderful thing in the world. A magical place you are entering into, where this little baby will love you just because, no matter what you look like, and the older you get the more dear you will be. Is that great stuff or what! Congratulations and blessings.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my!!!!!! Wonderful news. Joy, joy! Nicole is due Feb. 7th. We'll be grannies together, WOOHOO!
ReplyDeleteThis IS BIG NEWS! Thanks for sharing it!

ReplyDeleteHere in the States there is a bumper sticker I've seen that reads:
"If I'd known how wonderful grandchildren are, I'd have had them first!"
All your commenters seem to confirm that it's a pretty wonderful stage of life. I am so happy for you--it seems like perfect timing.
