I have no ideas for a title today...

One more day till I see the consultant. One more. It is now 6 weeks since I wrecked my knee. Oh, the miracles of modern medicine. The speed is so astounding it takes my breath away.

I have been up since the wee hours again, and I have just looked at the hair. I have decided that curls and waves are "in". The humidity makes my hair do weird things. Or should that be "wired"..... both are completely appropriate right now. I look like the wild woman of Borneo. And no, you are absolutely NOT going to be seeing what a vision of staggering perfection I am.

Sigh.

I have no news. Life is not exactly a whirlwind of excitement here on the couch. I could take photos of my toes. Or the book I am trying to read. Every time I get past the first page (all of 12 lines) I fall asleep. I could also take photos of the dust. Or the carpet which needs vacuuming. Or the cobwebs. I am sure they are there, but I need my glasses to see. The remote control for the tv. My mobile phone.

Hmmmmm. I am clutching at straws here. So instead, here is a list of a few things I am particularly thankful for:
  1. That I am going to be a Granny in February!
  2. It is cooler today
  3. My son still makes me coffee without complaint after 6 weeks (after he wakes upthat is, and it is now 11.01am - not that I am in a hurry or anything)
  4. Chatting to my daughter both on the phone and on messenger
  5. My couch - am I ever glad we got the 2 couches!

And I am going back to the couch right now. If I wear sunglasses I won't be able to see any of the dust.

Oops - I have just remembered that I a) have been tagged to do a meme and b) have a couple fo awards I need to pass on. Tomorrow. I will do it tomorrow.

  1. It's going to be nearly 38C here today. Your 20C sounds pretty good to me!

I'm going to do a sugar test today. Two hours of drinking sickly sweet goo and being poked to have blood drawn. I still have to be "officially diagnosed" with diabetes before my insurance will pay for my testing supplies and medication.

I feel your pain regarding getting anything done medically speaking. Especially them getting in any kind of a hurry!

Hope you get something done tomorrow and get a course of treatment settled upon to get you back on your feet and healing!

    Love and hugs,

    Diane

PS: I had to make my own coffee, but I've already got mine. ;o)

  2. Has the boy no mercy? Past eleven and still no coffee? I'd be sunk.

Hang in there, Linds. Tomorrow will be a better day!

  3. Hello, Linds --
Thanks for your encouraging words on my blog. I can always use more friends who "get it" and walk this path with me.
And I can always use more blogs to read!!

  4. I will be sending good vibes in your direction tomorrow for the appointment. Guess I will have to do it in my sleep since you are 8 hours ahead of us!!!! Six weeks is absolutely ridiculous to have to wait for this appointment.

You need one of those coffee pots on a timer so your son could make the coffee the night before and it would be ready for you when you awoke.

  5. You poor dear! If I was there, I'd do all those house chores for you and even shine your sunglasses!

I'm not sure I could make it to 11:01 a.m. without coffee!!! Can you get it ready the night before and set a timer on the coffee maker? (if it has one)

  6. Just keep your chin up and know that soon you'll be up and around and making your own coffee at a more preferred hour! LOL!
    Hugs to you...

  7. I'm so sorry about your knee - hope that consultant has a magic wand - but but but your impending Grannytude is so excellent! Who needs knees?

Actually, on second thoughts, grannies probably do. For dandling grandchildren on.

    I wish I were a granny. Sigh.

  8. Oh Linds, I'm so sorry this is dragging on soooo long. I can only imagine how tired of it all you are.
But that new granny business - now that really is something to be thankful for. Perhaps you can come up with a brilliant plan for a baby quilt.
Praying you get everything taken care of and mend soon Linds.
