Morning, all - I am watching CNN and the storms in the States as I write, and I am thinking of everyone down in that area. Be safe.
The house is becoming "uni central" at the moment. Things are spilling out of the boxes and bags and we need to get sorted for next Saturday, when David is heading off to uni. He is so excited! Lists are everywhere, and apart from the food bits and the laptop, we have it all, I think. Getting it there may be more of a challenge. I must finish the Mum's Survival Guide I started for him. He keeps thinking of things I need to add - like how to use leftovers etc. Vital essentials, of course.
So this weekend is sorting time.
Not to mention cleaning the house time. I saw a sliver of sunshine yesterday for a very brief moment, and was immediately reminded of the plusses of grey wet days. You can't see the dust.
My duster, polish and I are off to battle.
Whoa up there girlie!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely no dusting allowed.
Make dust your friend!
I too have spoken (lol).
This will be an emotional week for both of you. Perhaps it is good that you will be busy with necessary tasks.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to read the report of your knee. I so wished that they would have had a diagnosis and that you would be now receiving the care needed to get it repaired. I can understand your utter frustration while you are the one experiencing the pain and discomfort.
Wait a minute! Surely some dear friend/s will come in and help with the cleaning??? Don't overdo a thing!
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting time for David and what a bittersweet time for you.
Remember: don't overdo!
These events are always such bittersweet ones in our lives. I hope David has a wonderful first year.
ReplyDeleteI recommend that you keep the dust around for a while and just relax this weekend.
Don't look at the dust - that's what I do, and I don't have a bum knee! Just too many kids around all the time to do such unimportant things as dusting! Ha.
ReplyDeleteOur students are halfway through their first quarter already, and David is now heading off. Such different scheduling! I hope he loves it as much as he anticipates. What will be his major? I hope the laptop situation clears up soon!
Ah, yes - the bitter sweetness of it all! You want them to go and experience every single thing the world has to offer. But you miss them like crazy and want to protect and fix every stumble and problem that they encounter. Such is the boundlessness of motherhood.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with getting it all there. Will you be able to go along and see his room and know a bit about where he'll be? I really hope so. Seeing it always helped me in the weeks to come when I couldn't be close by.
Good luck with the dusting! I did it last week so I know of what you speak :)) But do take time to enjoy the sunshine, while you have it.
Prayers for the big send off for David!
ReplyDeleteStay off that knee.
How are you going to be once he goes? You're so uncomplaining about that. I miss my boy so much!
ReplyDeleteBut I'm sure David will have a great time. All those yummy leftovers!
Ignore the dust- it will wait.
ReplyDeleteSpend the time enjoying your son, & making his survival guide.
I really should do some sorting here as well, but I am not in the mood for it.......
ReplyDeleteSo what are you wanting from me? Am I going to be forced to come there and picket your house and carry my sign that reads........
ReplyDelete"Save The Dust Bunnies"
I fought the dust and the dust won. That's all I have to say about that.....sigh.....
ReplyDeleteSo sorry your knee is still so hurting! It looks terribly swollen, no you're not going mad, you need one of those doctors to find out what is going on!!!
What a lovely gift from your blogging friend. That must have brightened up your day so much.
How far away is your son going to college? Mine went 20 minutes away and I was a mess for a few days and then he was home for the weekend! lol! With dirty laundry to boot!
Yeah I just ignore dust, if I pretend it doesn't exist maybe it will go away!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a good week organizing - what a milestone!
Oh, and in regards to the post below you are NOT crazy!!!
Hugs,
Heidi
