If anyone tries to tell you that acupuncture does not hurt, they are LYING. Needles going in = no problem. Turn the needles?????? BIG problem. And the joyful news is that I had 7 needles in today and there will be more next time. MORE.
And as they will probably tell you or have already told you, it probably hurt because you're so inflamed and out of whack. As you get more IN whack it won't hurt.
Linds, Sorry I'm so far behind reading posts. Is this needle torture to treat your knee? I've not had that kind of abuse, so don't know much about it, but I do respect your courage, and hope it helps.
It seriously amuses me that 'Needled Mom' isn't a fan of acupuncture. I was talking to a friend of mine who's an acupuncturist today, and he says I must tell you to 'ditch that prick down South' (I think this is an example of acupuncturist humour) and come up to York to be treated by a nice Northern Irish man. So there you are.
I used to have acupuncture treatments a few years ago. You're right, going in the needles don't hurt, but move and OUCH...the nerve gets poked! I always found myself very relaxed after a treatment. Hope you find the treatments get easier as you go along!

ReplyDeleteTrust me on this one. Truly.
