The bunting is up.......

Welcome to my home in its Spring regalia!
Sky News on the TV. You will see why lower down the page.......

The bunting is done and up and it looks Spring-like so I am happy!

This is one of the birds and butterflies I have clipped on to the little fibre-optic tree which stays up all yes. basically because I have nowhere to put it, but then I started decorating it for the seasons and now it is part of what I do. Christmas is Christmas, of course, and then the rest of Winter is red gingham bows. This is Spring, and when Easter comes, it will also have Easter decorations on it, although my real Easter tree will be at the front door. Then in Summer, there will be the birds and butterflies and flowers too. Autumn has all the Autumn leaves, and little pumpkins etc on it, and there you have it. An all year round tree.
See? It looks much nicer in real life, though!
I would like to restart today. March.
It has not got off to a stellar start. It is grey and cold yet again, and getting the news that there was an earthquake in Wellington this morning did not help either, but I spoke to my daughter and she is just fine. She did say that she broke all records getting out of pjs and into jeans though.

And then I popped along to have my 3 monthly chat to my GP and decided that she needed to actually see my knee, so I wore a skirt. Now wearing a skirt is a nightmare because it brushes against my leg as I have mentioned before, so that was not a great start. Then, in my warped wisdom, I said it was ok for her to touch or prod the knee. So she did. And after that I could not string 2 coherent words together, my head nearly exploded, and I walked out bordering on hysteria, got to the car and sat there and howled for what seemed like ages.
Then I came home. To my lovely Spring house. And I am about to go and curl up on the couch and pretend I am in some warm and sunny place with palm trees swaying and the sound of waves breaking on the beach. They call it mind over matter visualisation.
It better work. .

  1. Very cheerful! (Perhaps your lifted spirits will help ease the pain?)

We've left the icicle lights from Christmas on our bridge. Not ready to say good-bye to their warm glow.

  2. Hello Linds,
LOVE your home! And it looks so gorgeously spring-like that it can't do other than raise your spirits. It has motivated me to try to do something with mine, although I fear here there is less potential for seasonal changes.
Your knee sound terrible. I'm sure you really shouldn't have to endure such awful pain. Can't the doctor do something to help you? - it sounds intolerable. I hate to think of you having to cry in the car.
I shall think positive knee-healing thoughts and send them your way. Life is hard enough at times without such a lot of pain.
    Take care my dear...
    Helen

  3. Oh why does she have to prod it so?

Okay, moving right along...your home looks like the very vision of spring. I love it! Cozy and bright...the bunting perfect...the afghan so cheerful with the yellow and green. One would think that perhaps I could get inspired.

Glad that Diana is well. We are praying that these aftershocks will stop. Enough already.

  4. Hi Linds, your Springy house is just lovely!! And cheerful too. We are in the throws of another nasty run of very cold weather here. -40C where I live!! Not Spring at all in these parts. I so badly want to get my Spring things out but whats the point when you see 3 feet of snow out every window. So instead I keep my hands on a cup of Coffee to stay warm and will try and get a quilt loaded on the frame today.
    Hugs~

  7. I am amazed at the trouble that you go to to make your home look fabulous for each season! I'll attempt to send some of our weather over to you - we have heatwave conditions - 37 degrees today. Oh, how I miss England!

  8. Thanks for giving us a glimpse of spring inside your lovely home , the touches of yellow and green are so right for the way we're all feeling. Spring can't come fast enough for me each year. I love the gallery of pictures on your wall! Sure hope that there is something that can be done to help your knee. It must be very painful. I hope that Wellington will have no more tremors.

  10. I hope the mind over matter thing worked for you. I usually choose substance (as in heavy duty medication) over matter.
    I. Love. Your. Home!!!
It's so fresh, lovely and spring-looking!!!! You have quite the touch, Linds. It made me smile. And I needed that.
    :)

  13. I love how cheery and bright your home looks! You do a wonderful job of making your "home" reflect your optimism and joy in living. I wish I could leave this deep freeze (-40C yesterday) and come for tea beside the tulips. Enjoy a new season and all the promise it brings, my friend!
