Wed Pt 3

Dell didn't call back this morning as promised.

I made a call at 1pm to India, and was put through 5 different departments before someone called Kumar put the phone down in the middle of our conversation.

I called the Dell service number the tech left me. Twice. Before someone did what they promised to do, and emailed details of the tech's visit to a manager and asked for immediate call back.

Dell finally called back as I was leaving for the hospital. "I just want to make sure you are happy with everything" .........WHAT??????? I don't think so. A manager is calling back this evening.

My friend's car expired. The friend who was taking me to the hospital. So I had to call everyone I knew before I found someone at home and free to drive me. I came within a second of driving myself.

Stopped at clinic to collect MRI. "I have no record of your request" said the woman. Check. Ooops here it is she said 5 mins later.

The 12 year old registrar..... (he looked 12) well...... there is medial ligament damage and cartilage damage, and .....
Can I drive? - well that depends
Can I work ? - well that depends
Why does it hurt so much? - maybe it is the inflammation
Why is it so swollen? - maybe it is the inflammation
Why is it such an odd shape? - maybe it is the swelling from the inflammation
What do I do now? - take some anti-inflammatories. Come back in 4 weeks.

Give me strength. I don't know why I bothered. I am now going to heal myself, I have decided. I can't walk far, I can't climb steps easily. But I am going to find out how to fix it. If it has to be physio, then I will do it. Rest? Ditto.

Oh heavens - what a day. I am totally exhausted, and I still have another Dell call to deal with.

If it ever materialises.

  1. Isn't it just the pits when they can't tell you anything??? I mean you go to the doctors for answers and sometimes walk away completely confused.

Just take it easy on that leg and get plenty of rest.

As for DELL, I would say just give up, they are annoying LOL

  2. As soon as you get the pain more under control, let's you and I run away, and sell apples on street corners, or we could wear turbans and tell people's fortunes, or relocate to some foreign place and answer phones for the Dell corporation.

Try to find a sturdy cane to bring along, and I will do the same. We can fight off wild animals with them, and don't forget your pain meds. Love and prayers, Judith

  5. Frustrating day for you to be sure. I am glad that you are one who speaks up. Squeaky wheel and all that. In the meantime, I hope that you have found yourself a cozy spot, a good book, and a glass of something fine to drink.

Praying that the Lord reveals what this is all about very soon.

  6. I was really looking forward to hearing something definite about the knee, Linds. I know that you were as well. I am truly at a loss of words regarding this whole mess. It continues to put a kink in your life and it doens't sound like it will be over anytime soon.

I hope the Dell "event" has a better outcome. What a huge "oops" to have called regarding your satisfaction.

  7. Crikey! Dealing with India is bad enough, but getting the runaround is worse. I am not being racist. Nothing against Indians face to face, but on the phone, I just cant understand them, & vice versa.

Apart from which, your knee sounds similar to mine, only I dont think I have the pain levels you do, & I have been assured that I need a knee replacement.... when it gets too bad to bear.
    GRRRR

  8. I'm sorry, Linds, but my Mom's (Judith's) comment made me laugh out loud. I had no idea my mother wanted to start selling apples on street corners. Nor did I know she was so funny.

Good grief. I wouldn't have to worry about having a towel on my head when the Dell man arrived (previous post) because by now, I'd have pulled all my hair out. The only hair care product I'd need is Windex.

I don't know how you can stand all this ineptness. I don't think I've ever known anyone in my life who has to deal with as many idiots as you're having to deal with.

Your poor knee. "Come back in 4 weeks" is completely ridiculous.

  9. Oh my word...talk about the run around - and for someone who's having trouble walking that's saying a lot!

What a day. Thankfully tomorrow is new.

  10. Bloody hell! Between Dell and the hospital I'm surprised that you are still sane. I think that I would have been tempted to clobber the registrar with my crutch! Take care. X

  11. Linds, I really want to come over (with kettle) make tea, drive you around and SHRIEK (is that the correct spelling?) at Dell for you! I have quite a few rude American words I could use as well as British ones if that would help. As for the hospital....
    hugs, gillie

I wish there was something I could do to help. Seriously!
