Then Glynis and Peter arrived with an invitation to join them for tea, and off we went across the valley to a lovely favourite place for tea/coffee and scones (yes again!).
The oildseed rape is out in full flower already, as you can see, and the countryside around here is like a sea of yellow. And when the sun shines, it dazzles the eyes.
Home again, after browsing round the little shops, and I walked out into the garden to enjoy the lovely golden late afternoon sun, and saw this sparrow up in the apple tree. Isn't the blossom beautiful?
And don't tell me if is isn't a sparrow. It is a little brown thing with speckles. That will do nicely.
Lots drifting round in my mind - the Compassion Bloggers have arrived in India, so please pop over and read their accounts of their experiences, and, if possible, consider sponsoring a child too.
Dreams, ideas, thoughts and fears. The stuff we all have going on. Today, however, is the now we need to focus on, and so I am off to curl up with that book again, and rest. Enjoy the rest of your weekends!
Sometimes it is hard to get out of bed, right a way. Sounds like you had yourself a fun day, I enjoyed your pictures, the apple blossoms sure are pretty. Have a nice Sunday.
ReplyDeleteA lovely spring day - the field is striking - is it something that causes allergies to act up?
ReplyDeleteI came home from church to find that the oven didn't come on, as I told it to. This is the second time this has happened, so I am obviously not "getting" my new oven. I must remedy that situation.
My SIL is here from over there to be with us for my mom's 80th party next week-end. Wish brother was, too, but this is her yearly trip.
Glad you managed your chillout relaxing day today.
ReplyDeleteVery good. Balanced. Well done.Proud of ya!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful and relaxing Sunday! Those apple blossoms are gorgeous :)

I can't believe that you managed to remove yourself from the tub already....;)
ReplyDeleteI love the beauty of your countryside, Linds. It sounds like it was a spectacular day.
The blossoms are beautiful. Glad you managed your relaxing day. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your day...I'd love to see that blossoming field of yellow that dazzles the eyes.
ReplyDeleteMust back up here and discover what I've been missing...
Lovely pictures. I like the phrase you used,"...the now we need to focus on". Great advice.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures of your countryside! Also LOVE the one of the lilac in another post! Mine are still just beginning to bud. I can just imagine the lovely fragrance in my head just looking at that picture!
ReplyDeleteI've been following the Compassion bloggers too. What an amazing trip they are on! I just wrote a letter and prepared a birthday card for the 2 girls that I am partnered with, one in Brazil and one in Ethiopia.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to believe that the rapeseed (we call it canola) is blooming already. It was snowing again this weekend and there is no fieldwork done around here. Traditionally the first of May is when things get rollling in earnest. Love your bird picture - so spring like!!
Sounds a lovely way to spend the day.
ReplyDeleteNot fair, your Spring is more advanced than ours! lol Our apple trees haven't even started budding yet. I'm so glad that you were able to enjoy such a lovely day out yesterday. It was cold and windy here so I just went to the auction then came straight home to bundle myself up in a quilt and watch a movie!!
ReplyDeleteThat yellow field reminds me of the mustard seed fields I've seen when I travel south of here...as you say, when the sun is shining, it's absolutely blinding!
Wishing you a wonderful week my friend. xoxo
I must say it looks heavenly were you live... Just gorgeous! Enjoy your long soak. It sounds heavenly!
ReplyDeleteI have been on a reading binge. I just cant seem to stop! Of course it is no good for my body, but oh, the fun I am having!
ReplyDeleteReading has to be good for your Soul!
