Mess.....

David is heading back to uni tomorrow. So guess what..... my house looks like a bomb has hit it. Total chaos. Bags and washing and boxes, and STUFF. Everywhere. He has remembered that he needs some extra stuff. Convenient. Brilliant. The washing machine is whirring and so is the dryer. Why the child has to wait till the last day I do not know.

The house will feel decidedly empty when he is back in res. He is really looking forward to going though. And I have just cut his hair. He is reluctant to spend money, this child. He is more frugal than just about anyone I know. Me included. He plays badminton twice a week at uni and thoroughly enjoys it, and he has done well academically so far, so all is good. Right place and right time.

But it is lovely to know he is home too. I have got used to having someone around again! Right. I am off to watch the packing. I will be back.

I'm so glad you've had him home for such a nice long visit, and that he is loving what he is doing. I remember my first trip home from college - we only had two weeks in those days - and chafing at the bit to get back to school. Home was great, but just not the same.

Please keep praying for the girlies - if you're confused, check out my prayer requests at my place. Thanks!

Hi! I found your blog through Susan. I know how you feel. I had both my kids and my son's fiance here for 3 1/2 weeks. Now they are back at college. They left behind an empty house and a sad mama.

Kids are all the same though aren't they? No matter what age, they wait until the very last minute to get anything done LOL

Hugs,
Sandra

It's always the same when they come home. A whirlwind of excitement. They leave and then it's complete quiet. Sometimes I'm not sure which is better.

As if you would have it any other way ;) Say Hi to David for me and tell him I said, 'have fun, study well and do his mummy proud'.

At least you only went to watch him pack - that's all you did, right?

It doesn't matter how old they get, it's still sad to see them leave! Enjoy every minute of this last bit of time! We'll be here after he goes - in case you need some diversion :))

I know that you have thoroughly enjoyed his company while he was home, despite the laundry, mess and all else.

I'm sure you will miss him once he's settled back in university but it sounds like he's doing what he loves and has a good head on his shoulders:-) It always takes me a while to get used to the silence again once my boys leave! lol xoxo
