You have to watch this one....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lp0IWv8QZY

Britain's Got Talent is back again, and just listen to this. This song makes me cry whenever I hear it - it is a song which articulates so many emotions, and those last words -

I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed

never fail to make the tears fall. And this lady??? She made me cry even harder for so many reasons.

WOW Linds,

How fantastic for this lady. I have never seen Simon so humble. What a dream come true for her and such a blessing to her soul. Thank you for sharing this "wake up call". I love you girl. I can relate with her too.

Love and Hugs, Laurie

We saw it last night...John's daughter sent the link. We were very impressed and listened many times. I suppose that the next time we see Susan, she'll have been given a makeover, but she's as cute as a button right now.

That was fantastic. I wish there wasn't an age limit here on American Idol. She has a glorious voice. I have to say I couldn't understand the words either in speaking or singing, but did so enjoy her voice.

What happened to the cell phone guy from last year and the adorable little girl?

I was watching some morning show here and they showed the clip. One of the commentators was hell bent on ridiculing her 'brows' - I was fuming, the idiot! The silly commentator did not show the end of the song where an apology was given to Susan by the female judge. Susan moved me straight up.I you tubed her. Even the part of her waiting in the wings gave insight to her character. This woman will not only touch lives through her voice but she will address (hopefully) many judgmental people. Interesting that the brick layer who won last year also came from that district. Two 'misfits' with a gift. How many more warm, loving, talented, generous people are there out there who are laughed at and scorned and rejected? My guess is there are many.

And I think Simon was over doing the whole 'I am in awe' thing. He so would have known she could sing (from the auditions). That's show business, folks!

I know I learnt my lesson from watching the performance.

After a little pondering I would like to retract the statement about Simon. It would appear that I was a bit judgmental - go figure!

Susan is absolutely AMAZING. I too love Les Miserables.

Linds, you sound chipper. I hope the time with your grandchild lifted your spirits.

Thanks for sharing the clip. That is one of the songs I played over and over when my husband died. Those lyrics speak volumes don't they. And what a beautiful voice to sing those words.

Hope you had a wonderful time playing with your granddaughter.

What an amazing voice, and I would like to think that maybe those people would think before making snap judgments based on appearance in future, but I realize that our memories are short.

Hope you had a grand time with your little one and family, Granny. :o)

Love and hugs,

Diane

WOW! What an amazing voice. Made me cry too and reminded me that you are never too old to follow your dreams. When I get discouraged with studying I visualise myself up on a stage in my gown waiting to be capped and I know that all the hours of hard work will be worth it in the end. The woman is inspirational - just what I needed today. Thanks, Linds.

Wow...that was so cool. This lady can sing! Thanks for sharing...and did I understand correctly that this was only the auditions? So presumably she will be back? And Simon likely may not have heard her before? Wish I could follow this one!

Have a great day.

Good morning dear Linds:-)

What a coincidence that you should post this video because earlier this morning I was reading another blog and she had posted the same one! I listened to Susan sing 4 times, I loved her voice so much...it also brought me to tears and I had goose bumps all over. Goes to show that first impressions are not always the right ones and we should never judge a book by its cover. I love how she humbled the judges and the audience...I hope with all my heart that she goes far with her singing career!!! xoxo
