Now all I need is a tutu.....

Move over, prima ballerinas all over the globe.... Linds has been practising! All I need is a tutu now and I will be able to star in Swan Lake. If you ever watched the episode of The Vicar of Dibley where Dawn French and Darcy Bussell danced, you will have the perfect image to bear in mind.

I decided to do my cleaning today. On my toes. So I flitted about the house waving a duster about in a ballerina-like graceful fashion. I am not actually sure how much got cleaned, but I was moving, and on my toes, and I had a duster and polish. They should add up to something at least.

Every now and then, I would drop the feet and try to rise on the left foot, and then would go tippy-toe-ing off again. Thank God there were no cameras around. God himself was probably rolling about clutching his sides.

Anyway. The cleaning. I managed to shred a veritable forest of paper today (on my toes) and then sorted the kitchen and study. (On my toes). Oh enough of the toes. I have been on them all day. You get the picture. I have also moved the boy's things back to his room and done a mountain of laundry. On........

And with that, I am going to try an arabesque and retire to watch some tennis. Jetes will follow tomorrow, after physio. (See, can you tell I went to ballet when I was little?????)

Oh Linds,

I love this and your determination to keep moving forward. I could see a picture of you in my head as I read. Bless your heart is all I can say. And you are so right, God does have a wonderful sense of humor and He loves us so much. I don't know ballet, but I will believe whatever you write. I was a pure tomboy. I might still be:) Love you girl.

I guess this is more fun than the couch Linds.

How can it be? I'm with you there especially when I too cannot recognise that face in the mirror, well I can actually, it looks like my Grandmothers!!

What an awesome coincidence. It just so happens that I have been likened to the Vicar (from Dibley) - which can only mean that not only will we sing together (The winner takes it all) but we will Swan Lake ourselves round the Globe as well.

I'm pretty sure we can incorporate the duster into the routine ;)

Keep up the training (I mean exercises)- pictures, please.

I am just picturing you on your tiptoes. So well described!

I don't know if it's any consolation, but I have to do exercises for my flat feet and have similar trouble with them, and I've been doing them for six months. Some are fine. Easy.

The one that involves balancing on one foot and rising up and down on my toes... well, I've taken to doing it alone so my husband won't laugh as I fall sideways for the umpteenth time. And I'm 29 and have two whole knees. I salute your determination!

I rolled with laughter after reading my Karen's post, and continued rolling, laughing all the way through yours. You are too funny!

I heard strains from The Sugarplum Fairy and rushed right over!

One of my very favorite Disney scenes is the one in Fantasia of the hippos (do NOT take this personally) dancing. It cracks me up every single time.

Loved the line about God clutching His sides. I bet He does think you're something pretty wonderful...

Large parts of the world are in a mess so God needs something to make him laugh! Keep it up, it will get easier - I know this as a fellow "knee sufferer".

If you need additional things to do to be on your toes... my house is always available for that feather duster and cleaning!! :-)

Seriously Linds, this post had me smiling all the way through it. Not because of the visual you provided (although I did enjoy that), but because your determination is inspiring!

Keep it up girl!!
