The sun shines.......

Morning, my friends...... don't you like the lovely green wooden welcome sign? They happened to be unpacking them at our local bargain shop and I thought - Ooooh! It would look great at the front door! So I bought it. And I love it.

Ye olde chariot is off having its MOT today. For my non British friends, that is the legally required annual health check for all cars over 3 years old. Mine is considerably more than 3 years old and I am really really hoping that it flies through and doesn't have any disastrous ailments. Nice car. Good car. I actually got up at dawn and washed it and towelled it dry. So at least it looks is if it is a good fine car. Old, like its owner, but still on the move.
The snowdrops haven't quite opened yet.... I keep checking.

The sun, can you believe it, is trying to shine. Considering that the temps here have been hovering around 0C and below with the wind, this is a miracle. Weak, but sun nonetheless. I feel inspired to weed. And I have a couple of daffs which are about to burst into bloom - I watch them every day.

In fact, I am going out for a walk while it shines. I will be back in a while. Yes, I am taking my camera. I want to find some blossom along the way.......
I am back.

It is still very cold out there, but the sun is making everyone smile, and I had a lovely walk to Mill Lane at the edge of the village. This path meanders don the valley under the big road and down to the river and the lakes. I didn't go far down it today, but it is all so green and spring-like and the trees are all in bud, and it is just so exciting!!!

I sat for a while on the bench at the top of the lane, in the sun, and there was a bird singing away at the top of its voice close by. I couldn't see it anywhere, but I listened. It was so beautiful. And then, when I got up to start walking again, there it was high in the tree, a little robin. Such a loud voice for such a little thing.....

It is the little things, people, the little things, which make all the difference in this world.

My mind can't take in the signs of spring while it is so cold. My internal thermostat still insists it is winter.

I love the welcome sign and the wreath. And good luck with the MOT.

I am eagerly waiting for Spring to get here too. My favorite season for sure. You scored good on the welcome sign Linds. I love it. And I love the snowdrops. I need to get me some of those for sure. Hoping your car passes it's physical for you too. Thank you for being such a wonderful friend. Have a wonderful weekend:)

Love and Hugs, Laurie

I love the pretty welcome sign and the great egg wreath. It all says spring to me.

The walk looked delightful. Aren't the light green spring colors wonderful? Nothing says spring more than a robin!!!!

Your new spring decor is so lovely and cheerful. Do you realize it'll only be about 5 weeks before we get on our plane? We must discuss when to get together.

Could you please soak in the sun and enjoy the green-ness for me? It's still deep in the throes of winter here - temperatures in the minus teens for the next 2 weeks they are saying. Thanks for sharing your pictures and your happy spring feelings with me!

There is no better light anywhere in the whole world than what illuminates England. Stuff of poetry.

It's hard to believe the snowdrops are blooming already, with the cold days you have had. And the green - oh, how beautiful. And the little robin - delightful! What a nice hopeful post. Love the sign and the wreath.

Ah, I so enjoyed this. Felt like I took a little walk with you enjoying the sun and the company of a friend.

Thanks for sharing your beginning glimpses of spring as we haven't seemed to have any yet and I am longing desperately for just a taste.

The sun has been shining the last 2 days. I'll take that, even if there is still snow on the ground! :-)

The path you walk along looks so inviting. Sometimes I think that is one of the things that I miss most here on the farm. Somehow it doesn't seem as likely that you would meet a moose or bear on your walks as I might. I'm glad you've seen some signs of spring in your corner of the world! It gives me hope.

All that green grass just makes me drool for spring! And to think you have some blossoms, I love the snowdrops. Your house looks lovely with all your spring touches, I love the new sign too! So sorry to hear about Naxos. That is so sad when we lose one of our furry kids who are such a part of the family. They certainly gave him a wonderful life! I wondered if the earthquake was near your daughter, I am glad she is alright!!!!!! Yes, gas prices are crazy, when is this going to stop? I really don't think it is necessary. I try not to go out as much and when I do I always have a list so that I only make one trip. So sorry your knee hurts so badly. I hope the doctor realized just how much pain you were in!!!!!!!

Once it turns around, things move on at a great clip apparently. We heard many birds singing today and I even saw one of the vile turkey vultures had returned. No robins nor bluebirds, but I can't blame them with all these piles of snow. I'll come enjoy spring in your corner as needed.
