Granny 2B2

When I was reading my comments yesterday, I came across one from "Anonymous" and I rolled on the floor laughing. Let me introduce you to Ginny - otherwise known as Granny 2B2. Ann's mother.

"You thought I wasn't excited, well I am like a volcano that has erupted. Shame the knitting needles aren't attached to the national grid as we would all have free electricity. I am excited +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ but anxious for my little girl. I'm brimming with love for baby, A & A. Granny 2b 2"

I called her as I was choking with laughter and told her she needs to start a blog. Right now. And she told me how she has now got a permanent attachment to her body. The knitting bag. She is knitting up a storm for this grandbaby of ours and it is entirely possible that by February, he or she will have a wardrobe large enough to mean A and A will have to extend their house.

Ginny is the sweetest, funniest lady around. She has a heart of gold and arms which extend to gather everyone close. Andrew really lucked out in the in-law department, and our whole family is blessed to have Granny 2B2 and Grandpa 2B in it. We are already planning what we will do when we look after the babe and send A and A off for a weekend break! I, of course, will go down, and the 2 of us will elbow each other out of the way as we rush to cuddle and rock our grandchild. And clean and mop up and pace, no doubt. We have been there and done that with our own children, and lived to tell the tale. However, not with a grandchild. Not yet.

Ann is really so fortunate that her parents live close by and will be there to help. I know how much my Mum helped when I had my children. Grannies are great. And we are going to be great Grannies. And Ginny has a spare room. I may move in.
Now all we need to work out is how to hook her up to the National Grid and we will be sorted.

I didn't recognise myself. You forgot to say how lucky we are to have Andrew as our son-in-law. People will think that I have arms like an octopus, but I am 4ft 11ins and I always have to shorten sleeves, and even now weigh 10st 11lbs. Think of the knitting I could do if I were an octopus. Can anyone out there draw a cartoon of a short plump octopus knitting?!!!! Grandma2b2

This is such a fun time for both of you. I think both your kids are blessed to have parents who genuinely enjoy each other. My daughter-in-law's mother is a peach and she keeps in close touch with my mom, which I find very helpful indeed. She is also an amazing, wonderful grandmother to our grandsons. We don't usually battle for them, though; we usually divide and conquer. So you'll just have to keep the kids busy at making babes for a while so you don't have to share so much...a baby and a spare so to speak. LOL!

Have fun knitting, Grandma2b2!

You must be quilting, Linds???

She looks like she's going to be a fun Granny. Her comment made me laugh out loud too.

Granny 2B2 sounds like something out of a Stars War movie. Like R2D2's second cousin or something. LOL

You two are going to spoil this new baby completely rotten. And you're going to love doing it. :-)

How wonderful for ALL of you! It also is too crazy how our grandbabies are due on the EXACT SAME DAY!

This will be interesting. LOL!

Oh, the two of you are going to be quite the pair!! Sometimes it is hard to share the baby when you just want to cuddle her forever by yourself. It's kind of like kids learning to take turns :)) I'm sure all of this is making Andrew and Ann shake their heads!

If you figure out how to link granny 2b2 to the grid please let me know. I knit all year round and Eskom could use the help!
