Down south...

I am down south as I speak - at Andrew and Ann's. I arrived yesterday, via Ikea - well, of course we had to stop there and check out the new things and the Christmas stuff is in already! I had a bit of a wait for them to get home from work, so spent a while sitting on the wall of the garden, watching a teenager practice wheelies on his bike, and chatting on the phone. 2 and a half hours, to be exact. But I survived. And it was lovely to get inside and flop on the soft chair and drink some hot coffee and catch up. They had no idea I was waiting, by the way, and were both at work!

Today we went to Costco. What an education. I can't believe how cheap some of the food is - I ran out of steam half way round the place. I have now got my own card, so I will be investigating further. Soon. Then on to the retail park nearby, and I had slowed down to a crawl by then.

After dropping the stuff at home, we headed off to Canterbury and David, and it was so lovely to see him again. There seemed to be a lot of parents about today. We had lunch in one of the restaurants, and then decided to go to the beach, so headed to the coast nearby. The sun came out sporadically, and Andrew tried skimming pebbles - it was a pebble beach, and we all had a great time walking along the seafront. Slowly. Very slowly, in my case.

By the time we got back up the embankment, I was ready for a long nap. However, we took David back to uni, getting lost a good few times on the way, to the accompaniment of much mirth in the car. He is happy, and settled and seems so grown up and confident. He is in the right place.

Here we are back at A and A's home, and I am going to make more coffee and collapse on the sofa and do nothing. I have had a wonderful time with my boys and daughter-in-law today. I am, however, feeling very old and creaky. I will add photos later.

Have a great weekend!

PS: Sorry about all the typos. I posted without reading what I had written. I am also finding the combination of a day away from the computer and someone else's keyboard more than a little weird. Not to mention that the tiredness? It is just about finishing me off. I will attempt to do better next time.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for the prayers. It will take a while to get over the loss of my Dad and then my uncle... I so appreciate your kind words. It sounds like your visit was just lovely. I would love to fly off to visit my eldest son and daughter but need to regroup for awhile. Blessings to you!

Sounds like you've had a good time already. Careful not to overdo it, Linds. You may experience some of that "the Spirit is rarin' to go but the body, it ain't buyin' it."

Looking forward to the pics, and hoping you have a great rest of your weekend.

Love and hugs,

It is such fun to spend time with the kids! You've been doing so much Linds. I think a nice long time on the sofa is in order. Enjoy your time there. I'm glad David is doing so well. Makes a Mom's heart glad.

You did just fine. Sooo glad that you found a Costco. I can't afford not to shop at the big box stores even though there are times when I wish that I could because they are so crowded and one usually must buy in bulk.

Two and a half hours watching a teen do wheelies would've done me in. They would have found me on the sofa having coffee because I would've broken in. :D

Glad that you are having a good time. It's great to be with the kids!

I'm glad you got to spend some time with the son! Is Ann showing a lovely belly bump already? I only go to Costco a few times a year - it really blows my budget but I am able to stock up. I've always thought it might be a nice thing to split orders with someone. Are you interested??!! Something about the distance makes me think that's not happening!

I hope the knee doesn't react too much to all this gallivanting around! Take care - enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Am sure you feel better, seeing how well your son is doing.

I am still praying your knee problem gets taken care of.

Lovely to read of your contact with your young 'uns.
The tiredeness? wot the heck?? I have it too, in large dollops, seemingly out of proportion to what it should be.

Time spent with our loved ones is always so curative!

I am so glad that you are enjoying your visit with the kids.

Costco is my all time favorite shopping place for bargains. No wonder you were ready to collapse. Just walking around that giant warehouse would do one in and then add that to Ikea. YOU are amazing.

Glad David was doing well. I know he appreciated your visit.

Safe journey home, Linds.
